Hell Preachers Inc. - Supreme Psychedelic Underground (USA, 1968)

A very rare record from 1968. Hell Preachers seems to me like a band which is formed just for this project. They don't have any recording except this LP. But also there are some rumours around which say that the whole album has been recorded by Deep Purple (band members: Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Paice, Jon Lord) ; but it's just a rumour, so I'm not sure. And I didn't know anything else about this magnificient psychedelic album...The music is great, that's certain! Enjoy!

Europa, much like Alshire, was one of the cheapie labels in the D.L. Mueller/Miller orbit, meaning that nothing you ever heard or saw about it was quite what bit seemed. Like Animated Egg which also appeared on Europa about the same time (see the rear cover scan), artists such as "The Hell Preachers" appeared under pseudonyms and Mueller was the inevitable beneficiary of the publishing rights. Much can thankfully be found on the web about this, thanks in no small part to the efforts of websites like Space Age Pop.
And no, I don't work for any of 'em!

I wonder if anybody has been able to download this successfully. I am in Dubai and the local telecom provider is pretty restrictive, maybe thats the problem. I used to love this LP and havent heard it for 25 years. Yours, in great frustration. DN
